“La Compañía” is one of the most impressive, complete and complex constructions in Quito. Considered the most significant religious building in the Spanish Colonial period. Its construction began in 1605 and was opened to the public in 1613 and decorated up to the 18th Century. Its recent restauration lasted 20 years and gave back its splendor; it houses a wide variety of spaces, in which religious, cultural and social events can be held, as well as concerts or even educational exhibitions, seminars and conferences.
