In 2012, Quito will Count with a New Airport
Quito´s new airport is being built in Tababela, 25 kilometers away from the city. This airport will occupy 1 500 hectares and will manage 44 operations per hour. The Quito Airport will have parking for 20 airplanes and more than 50 counters to attend visitors.

The International Bureau of Capitals of Culture (IBOCC) declared Quito as the 2011 American Capital of Culture, with the aim of turning it into a regional referent and promoting the city worldwide. Quito meetings show earns millions
Quito, Ecuador, estimates its recently held Americas meetings exhibition will earn it $17 million from congresses and incentives. The sixteenth edition of MITM Americas, Meetings and Incentive Travel Market, from October 6-8, attracted meetings buyers from 17 countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Rumania, Russia, Switzerland, UK and the United States.
