El Salón del Chocolate Ecuador 2012 will open thanks to the support of Quito Conventions and Incentives Bureau

After the great success of this event in 2011 with 23 expositors and more than 6 000 visitors El Salón del Chocolate comes back, this time with its fourth edition from Friday 13th until Sunday 20th of May in the Católica University (PUCE) in Quito.

This year El Salón del Chocolate will function under the same prototype work, which is with the cooperation and interchange of productivity with different actors. In addition, this event will continue with workshops, talks, conferences and tastings for visitors.

In Ecuador cocoa represents one of the most transcendental products in its history. This is not only the first product ever exported, but it also supposes the insertion of Ecuador in international market during the decade of the seventies. In our days cocoa continues to be an active product in the Ecuadorian economy, as is well known to be fundamental ingredient for the chocolate elaborated in EE.UU, Switzerland and Belgium.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industries Franco-Ecuadorian is working to make this fourth edition in an important national and international event. Quito Conventions and Incentives Bureau has been an active part in all the process involved in this event in order to maintain the high quality that this product and city require.

The main objective is the promotion of Ecuadorian chocolate in national and international market, making this product the best image and flavour of Ecuador.
